Look at my pineapple! So much life after looking like death. This is the second attempt of regrowing a shop bought pineapple. Simply twisting out the top, removing outer leaves and leaving in a glass of water for a few weeks until the roots have grown a few inches, pot in soil. I saw it online by many people. I'm doubtful I will get edible fruit as it's just not hot enough in the UK but the greenhouse makes a difference

Bog of Depression, Can I Take Your Order?

[Scene: we're trying to figure out where to go for dinner]

Luke: [age 15] "There's the Happy Garden."

Mom: "I wonder how many Chinese restaurants are called 'Happy Garden'."

Beth: [age 11] "Why would a garden be a happy place to eat?"

Mom: "Happiness and luck and other good things are common in Chinese restaurant names. And gardens are usually full of life."

Beth: "I think we should start a restaurant called the Sad Swamp."

Luke: "The Grumpy Garden."

Me: "The Bog of Depression."

Beth: "That's it!"

Me: [simulating a phone call] "Bog of Depression, can I take your order? One Triple Displeasure, small or large? Large Displeasure? OK. What else? Szechuan Soggy Chicken? OK. Anything else? Grumpy Family with extra grumpy? OK. Shredded Dreams with Tofu? That's all? OK. Ten minutes."

Beth: "I would totally order there."

Mom: "A restaurant like that might actually succeed in some places."

Me: "I'm pretty sure I've eaten there before."

Breakfast at Neighbours Coffee Bar, Happy Garden

Had Turkey Ham breakfast set and also Salmon Fish breakfast set. Food was good and they treat you well. Environment was ok but the price was a bit high. It’s a pork & lard free cafe. 6/10

Spring Break gardening joy! Cleaned up the bed right outside the patio and planted a few potted plants that I didn't get to last season (2 Lily plants). The chickens were getting into the Tulips so I had to put a fence up for a little bit. I found potatoes in the garden I had forgotten about digging up. Mint is starting to take over the world again :)
